To kick off the month of October at the Library, retired funeral director Steve Person presents on Victorian funeral and mourning customs and how they have shifted into today’s funeral traditions. Mortuary and embalming equipment and instruments from the Victorian era will be on display during this presentation.

Ages: 13-18 We will talk about what programs the Library needs, what to add to our collection, and other ways we can improve the Library for teens like you! We will have snacks and play games! New members are welcome! Please fill out the application at tinyurl.com/mry5rxc3.

Join us for a monthly cooking club focusing on beginner to intermediate recipes while learning various culinary techniques. This month we will make recipes that may just scare your socks off. Local author, Donna Rewolinski, will be visiting the Library to read from her Novice Mystery series and talk about her writing and publishing life. Signed copies of her books will be available for purchase after the Q&A.

Where All Light Tends to Go by David Joy The area surrounding Cashiers, North Carolina, is home to people of all kinds, but the world that Jacob McNeely lives in is crueler than most.
