Get a Library Card!

It's Easy

To obtain a library card at the Hartland Public Library, you will need to bring identification that shows your current address, preferably a driver’s license. Young children should be able to write their full name. Children also require a parent’s signature to obtain a card or to access the Internet until they are 18. Your card may be used at any library in the Bridges Library System.

Basic Policy

Library cards are active for eighteen months. After that time we can easily update your card for you at the checkout desk. You must have your library card to check out materials or to access the Internet at the Hartland Public Library. You must have less than $5 in fines in order to check out materials on your library card, or to access our Internet computers. Fines may be paid in person by cash or check, or with a credit card through the "My Account" feature on our on-line catalog. Staff are not able to accept credit cards at the circulation desk.

Accessibility

You may use your library card at any of the 24 public libraries located in the Bridges Library System. Please be aware that all of the libraries have their own policies and fine structure. If you check out materials at another library, you are subject to their policies regarding loan periods and fines. Please let us know if you lose your card, so that we may cancel it in our database and make you a new one. There is a limit of 75 items on each card.

Come on over to the circulation desk located at the entrance of the Hartland Library and sign up for a library card! It is your passport to the world of fun and information at your local library.
