Welcome to 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten! 

Get ready to embark on a reading adventure with your little one and encourage a lifelong love for learning! 

  • Register your child—at any age before they start kindergarten. 
  • Nurture your child’s growing language and literacy skills! 
  • For every 100 books you read together, your child earns exciting rewards! 

This program doesn't have an end date, except when your kiddo starts Kindergarten. So, no need to rush—immerse yourself in the joy of reading! Dive into stories, create silly rhymes, belt out tunes, and join us for Storytimes at the Library! 

 

By reading just three stories a day, you and your little one will conquer the 1,000-book challenge in ONE year! Imagine the special moments you'll share along the way!

Reading before Kindergarten is one of the BEST ways to fuel your child's development! Studies prove that frequent reading from birth enhances language skills, builds a robust vocabulary, and sets the stage for future academic success. 


Ready to join the fun?

Register with a librarian at the Hartland Public Library to: 

  • Start a Reading Log to track every 100 books! 
  • Color in your Log for each book you read together. 
  • Return the Log to the Library, and we'll spotlight your child’s progress on our board.  
  • Plus, your little bookworm will get cool rewards for their awesome reading efforts!
