If a due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a holiday the due date will be the next business day. 

Bills will be mailed by the above date or earlier if possible.

Payment Options

Accepted payment methods include cash, check, or by credit/debit card. Any payment via credit or debit card will be charge a 3% processing fee.

Utility bills may also be paid online through Payment Service Network.

As always utility bill payments may be made in person at the Village Hall, sent by US Mail to Village Hall, or placed in our 24-drop box. We request you provide your remittance slip for ease of processing. 

The drop boxes are located near the entrance of Village Hall on Cottonwood Avenue and also near the exit of the shared parking lot with the Hartland Public Library on Park Avenue. Payments deposited in the drop boxes on or before the due date will be considered paid on time. The drop boxes will be emptied each day at approximately 7:30 am and the payments are processed as the day prior    

Late Payments

Payment must be received at Village Hall on or before the due date to avoid penalty assessments. The current penalty of 3% will be assessed to outstanding utility account balances, not paid by the due date.

Check for Water Leaks

  • Shut Off All Water Sources
    Turn off faucets, washing machines, dishwashers, ice makers, and any other devices that use water—both indoors and outdoors.
  • Locate and Monitor Your Water Meter
    Once you've confirmed everything is off, locate your water meter, typically found in the basement. You will have one of the meter types below, analog (left) or digital (right). Look for the small red leak indicator on the analog meter or the small line on the far right of the digital display.
  • Observe the Leak Indicator
    Watch the red indicator (analog) or small line (digital) closely for a few minutes. Even slow, subtle movement can signal a potential leak.
  • If It Moves, You May Have a Leak
    If the indicator wheel (analog) is moving or lines are accumulating (digital), it’s likely that water is flowing somewhere—possibly due to a hidden leak that needs attention.

Meter

Common Sources of Water Loss

  • Leaky Faucets
    A slow drip may not seem like much, but just 60 drops per minute can waste up to 192 gallons of water each month.
  • Outdoor Spigots
    These are easy to overlook. An open or leaking spigot can go unnoticed and lead to significant water loss.
  • Water Softeners
    Check the regeneration cycle settings. Frequent cycles can waste a substantial amount of water.
  • Toilets
    Silent leaks are common. To test, add a dye tablet (available at Village Hall) or 10–15 drops of food coloring to the tank. Wait 20–30 minutes without flushing. If the color appears in the bowl, you have a leak that needs fixing.

RV Dump Site

The Delafield-Hartland Wastewater Treatment Plant operates an RV dump site located at 416 Butler Drive, Delafield. The site is open seasonally Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you would like to use the site, stop at the main office building to pay the $5.00 dump station user fee and staff will escort you to the RV dump site.
